Our Hours
We try our best to accommodate our patients as much as possible when scheduling appointments. We have found that children with extensive dental work or preschool children are better to be seen early in the morning when they are fresher and can have a more positive experience.

The extra years of training that pediatric dentists complete includes training in the care of children and adults with special needs. In addition, pediatric dental offices are designed to be accessible for special needs patients.
Seeing several children in one family at the same time is never a problem for our staff. We know that our parents have busy schedules, and we do our best to stay on schedule at all times.
Pediatric Dentistry
Dr. Kristi is a pediatric dentist, she specializes in the treatment and prevention of dental disease, as
well as the overall oral health of children. Through extra years of schooling, training, experience, and certification, a pediatric dentist is uniquely qualified to treat the dental needs of infants, children, adolescents and those with special needs.
Why Choose a Pediatric Dentist?
A pediatric patient not only has a different dentition than adults but he/she may have specific dental and behavioral needs that are unique to a child. These needs may include orthodontics, dental sealants, fluoride applications or home treatments, or just simply education in oral hygiene. In addition to treating existing dental problems, our office focuses on prevention through patient and parent education.
We like to feel that you and your child do not come to our office to have their ”cavities fixed” but rather to prevent them. Our mission is to provide all of the educational tools necessary for our patients to enjoy a cavity-free future.
What is a Board Certified Pediatric Dentist?
When a Pediatric Dentist is Board Certified it means that the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry or ABPD certifies that the dental care being provided is based on standards of excellence that lead to high quality oral health care for infants, children, adolescents and patients with special health care needs. Certification by the ABPD provides assurance to the public that a Pediatric Dentist, like Dr. Kristi, has successfully completed accredited training and a voluntary examination process designed to continually validate the knowledge, skills and experience necessary to the delivery of quality patient care.
Pediatric Dental Services
Preventive Oral Hygiene Instruction:
This includes proper brushing, flossing and eating habits, ideal fluoride levels and the use of pit and fissure sealants. We strive to provide a fun, educational environment where children learn about the importance of good dental hygiene.
Restorative Dentistry:
This includes children’s fillings, crowns and prosthesis, including treatment of the often devastating nursing bottle decay. Dr. Kristi is committed to discussing all options before these procedures and answering all questions you may have. Always working for the goal of a healthy smile is her priority.
Tongue-Tie:
Tongue-Tie occurs when the fiber attachments of the tongue or the lip are in the wrong position, and it’s easily corrected with a surgical procedure called a frenectomy. We perform frenectomies for newborns, toddlers, preschoolers and older children.
Growth and Development & Braces:
As a pediatric dental specialist, Dr. Kristi is Southeast Alaska’s local expert on the growth and development of children’s dentition, jaws and craniofacial structures.
Dr. Kristi’s young smile evaluation may provide your child with a more positive experience should they need orthodontic treatment.

"I have to admit that I was EXTREMELY relieved to see how kind they were to my difficult son. They were very friendly, and yet professional at the same time. In addition, they were quick to service our needs, and yet at the same time very understanding and not overbearing with us. These were very good people to do business with, and I felt comfortable letting them look after my kid."
"Just in there today with my six year old for a dental cleaning, painless, great experience, as always. Dr. always makes her feel heard, appreciated and special. Both Nurse and Dr. extremely affectively communicate with child as well as parent(s) with specific care needs for proper care. Always finishes with a treat and a smile. Specific attention to detail re: prevention. If we ever left the area we could never find such high quality care."
